Welcome to my blog!

It’s been a very strange year!

The pandemic has had a huge impact on everyone. With schools closing and sporting events all being cancelled, I’ve spent most of the year furloughed.

As a photographer, it was frustrating to suddenly have loads of time, but not really be able to go anywhere, after various “stay at home” rules.

I’d been meaning to do some painting for years. Having specialised in photography at art college, I always my paints and apart from painting some scenery for a few shows, I really hadn’t done much since my Foundation course.

My first painting was a landscape of Roseberry Topping – a distinctive sight to anyone from Teesside. I do a lot of running, and it had been so long since we had been allowed to venture very far and this is one of our favourite places to run. No matter how many times we see it, we always stop a take photos, because there is always a new view of it. This was one of those photos.

I really had forgotten how much I loved painting…
